Professor Risto Ciconkov participated in the preparation of Print
Monday, 23 March 2009
Professor Dr Risto Ciconkov, a full-time professor of refrigeration engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Skopje and a member of the Serbian HVAC&R Society, was appointed (in 2008) by the ASHRAE Board of Directors as a member of the special expert committee, whose task was to prepare an official document on the attitude of this organization towards natural refrigeration fluids. The Committee consists of 6 top experts from the refrigeration field in the USA and 2 experts from Europe.
At the meeting of the ASHRAE Board of Directors held in January 2009, the proposed document was adopted and published under the title “Position Document on Natural Refrigerants". This document will have effects on the direction of further development of refrigeration engineering in the USA, since natural refrigeration fluids (ammonia, carbon-dioxide and hydrocarbons) have been in the background in the USA so far.
Dr Ciconkov is globally well-known as the main initiator and organizer of the meetings on use of ammonia in refrigeration, which are held every second year in Ohrid, organized in cooperation with the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) under the title “Ammonia Refrigeration Technology”

In IIR, Dr Ciconkov is a member of the Executive Committee and member of Commission B2 and E2.
Dr Ciconkov is also a regular participant in HVAC&R congresses, where he presented a large number of his papers.
