Ashrae Danube Chapter Meeting Belgrade, Serbia, SAVA Congress Center Friday, 5th, December, 2008 13:00 - 14:00 h

The Organizing Committee of the 39th international congress on heating, refrigerating and air-conditioning paid a special attention to the young generation of professionals and organized a special Young Professionals Programme within the Serbian Society for Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning,  dedicated to undergraduate and graduate students and young engineers and technicians.

This year is a jubilee year and the 39th international congress on heating, refrigerating and air-conditioning of the Serbian Society for Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning will mark the centenary of refrigeration engineering and foundation of the International Institute of Refrigeration (1908 –2008) and the 140th anniversary of the foundation of the first guild organization in Serbia – the forerunner of the Serbian Union of Engineers and Technicians (1868 –2008).

We expect that among other famous refrigeration experts from all over the world our guests at the 39th congress will be Mr. Didier Coulomb, the Director of International Institute of Refrigeration, Mr. Francis Allard , REHVA President, Mr. Bill Harrison, ASHRAE President, Mr. Jurij Tabuncikov, AVOK President from Russia and others, making the list of over 20 names of famous people in this field.

After a one-year pause we shall have an opportunity again  to greet and hear ASHRAE President, Mr. Bill Harrison, at the 39th congress on heating, refrigerating and air-conditioning

We no longer count ASHRAE presidents we have had an opportunity to welcome and greet at our congresses; for us it is important that the tradition continues.

The Application Form For Attending The 39th Congress And Exhibition On HVAC&R

Our colleague, Professor Predrag - Pega Hrnjak, Ph.D., M.S., has been awarded “Rittinger Medal” for 2008 by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning (ASHRAE). This medal is a high recognition for significant contributions to the development, advancement and application of technology in the field of air-conditioning, heat pumps and refrigeration.

At an ASHRAE annual meeting held at the end of June in Salt Lake City (Utah, the USA), professor Dr. Marija Todorović, a member of the Board of Directors of the Serbian Society for Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning (KGH), was elected the Regional Vice Chair of Student Activities of the Region-At-Large (RAL), the regions which comprise all ASHRAE members in the world excluding the North America and Far East.

A traditional meeting of the representatives of the Japanese company DAIKIN with designers was held on 3rd June 2008 in the picturesque ambience of the hotel Vila Breg in Vršac. DAIKIN representatives presented to designers their latest innovations accomplished in the well-known VRV system with variable refrigerant flow, for which this company has become famous.
