ASHRAE DISTINGUISHED LECTURERS VISITING SERBIA Print

In cooperation of the Serbian Society for Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning (KGH) with ASHRAE, within the ASHRAE Danube Chapter, after his visits to Athens and Timisoara, (the annual meeting of the ASHRAE Danube Chapter on 16th  April 2010), Dr Drury Crawley, ASHRAE distinguished lecturer, arrived from Timisoara in Belgrade with the Serbian delegation and on Monday (19th April) gave a lecture in the Serbian Union of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers (SMEITS). The lecture was organized in cooperation with the Serbian Chamber of Engineers.

THE ANNUAL MEETING OF THE ASHRAE DANUBE CHAPTER (2010) Print

The annual meeting of the ASHRAE Danube Chapter was held in Timisoara on 16th April 2010 within the 19th conference of AIIR (Romanian Association of Installation Engineers).

In the working session of the meeting, 9 papers were presented by students and a lecture was given by Mr. Drury Crawley, an ASHRAE distinguished lecturerer, on energy efficient buildings.

After the report on the Danube Chapter activities in the previous period, which was submitted by the present President of the Danube Chapter, Prof. Robert Gavriliuc (Romania), the officials of the ASHRAE Danube Chapter  were elected for the following term of office (2010/2011):

  • President: Bratislav Blagojević (Serbia);
  • President-Elect: Ioan Boian (Romunia);
  • Vice-President: Branislav Todorović (Serbia);
  • Secretary: Joan Dobosi (Serbia);
  • Treasurer: Milorad Bojić (Serbia);
  • Members of the Board of Governors: Florea Chiriac (Romunia), Peter Novak (Slovenia) i Risto Ciconkov (Makedonia).

Active ImageThe IIR co-sponsored 40th International Conference on Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeraton took place in Belgrade, Serbia, on December 2-4, 2009. With 750 participants from 20 countries, 63 papers and 132 exhibitors, the event was highly successuful. The main themes were energy upgrading and the use of reneweble energy sources in existing buildings, improvement of the indoor environment, and addressing of global warming issues. The Minister of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia gave an overview of Serbia energy strategy with a focus on renewable sources. Susan Phalippou recived on behalf of the IIR a medal commemorating the 40th anniversary of the congress and 40 years of cooperation between the IIR and the Serbian Society for Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning.

We would like to remind the visitors of the Internet page on the congress of the Serbian Society for Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning (KGH) that the website kgh-kongres was officially launched in the mid November 2007, just before the 38th international congress.

After a large number of visits the very beginning (mainly by „relevant and competent authorities), during 2008 the number of website visits per day became constant and amounted to approx. 100, but this numbers usually increases before the congress and in December, and, generally,  there is a tendency of slight, but constant increase.

The Serbian members of REHVA celebrated 40th International HVAC congress

The international congress on heating, refrigerating and air-conditioning was held for 40th time in the period of the previous 40 years under the theme “sustaining our future by rebuilding our past”. The congress began with a preschool children’s choir and it was officially opened by the Serbian Minister of Energy, Professor Dr. Petar Škundrić.

ASHRAE Prominent at International Congress

BELGRADE, Serbia—The International Congress on Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning convened for its 40th year recently. The Congress shared ASHRAE President Gordon Holness’ presidential theme of Sustaining Our Future by Rebuilding Our Past. Holness addressed the more than 400 Congress attendees. ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer Tom Lawrence, Ph.D., Member ASHRAE, presented the final speech of the Congress, on energy certification of buildings, as well as details on Standard 189.1.

International recognition awarded to Živojin Perišić Print

REHVA, the Federation of European Heating and Air-Conditioning Associations, conferred the title of the Honorary Fellow on Mr. Živojin Perišić, a graduate engineer and a member and Vice-President of the Serbian Society for Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning (KGH). Mr. Perišić was awarded this diploma at the banquette held on the first day of the 40th  HVAC&R congress in the Sava Centre in Belgrade (2nd  December 2009).

On behalf of the REHVA delegation, consisting of three REHVA vice-presidents, Dr. Ioan Silviu Dobosi, Vice-President,  read the formal announcement and handed over the diploma to Mr. Perišić as a recognition of his outstanding services, stating the contributions Mr. Perišić has made during his career  as an engineer and designer in Energoprojekt company,  and during his volunteer work in REHVA and other professional engineering associations – SMEITS (Serbian Union of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and Technicians), the Serbian Society for Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning (KGH), the Association of German Engineers (VDI), the American Association of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and others.

The 40th jubilee HVAC&R congress and exhibition is behind us…

Almost 2000 HVAC&R professionals visited this event, which gathered over 70 domestic and foreign authors as well as a large number of domestic and European companies at the exhibition of equipment and accomplishments held within the congress in the Belgrade Sava Centre. Once again, the congress and exhibition proved to be one of the most significant events in HVAC&R field in Serbia, but also one among the world’s leading conventions in this professional field.

The congress papers mainly dealt with sustainable development – energy saving and use of renewable energy sources.
