The Serbian members of REHVA celebrated 40th International HVAC congress

The international congress on heating, refrigerating and air-conditioning was held for 40th time in the period of the previous 40 years under the theme “sustaining our future by rebuilding our past”. The congress began with a preschool children’s choir and it was officially opened by the Serbian Minister of Energy, Professor Dr. Petar Škundrić.

Dr. Branislav Todorovic, the President of the Serbian Society for Heating, Refrigerating and Air-conditioning, greeted the participants from 20 countries of Europe, Asia, America and Africa and said that the coir of the youngest generation was there to remind us that our work and creation must be in the spirit of sustainable future, since we are not working for our generation, but for the generation of our children and their children.

ASHRAE President, Mr. Gordon Holness addressed over 400 congress participants as a representative of ASHRAE, which has for many years endorsed this congress, the biggest one in Europe held every year.
The representatives of the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), the European association REHVA, Italian AICARR and British CIBSE congratulated on the 40th jubilee.

During the three congress days, 75 papers were presented, and the second day programme included a part intended for young engineers and undergraduate and graduate students, who presented 11 papers in the full hall for 200 people. These young participants came from 4 Serbian universities  and one of the participants  and lectures was a student from Greece.
